This course is designed to help prepare international students to take the TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) as preparation for application to universities (uni) in the United States. The course is instructor led and meets online, twice per week for two (2) hours on Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 10 students.
Cost: $1600 (32 hours of instruction)
The TOEFL was developed by ETS (Educational Testing Service) to measure the ability of non-native English speakers to succeed at an academic institution. The test evaluates listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. A TOEFL score measures the communications skills of those wishing to be accepted to a post-secondary school where English is the native language.
Today, the majority of testing centers are using the iBT (Internet Based TOEFL) rather than the PBT (Paper Based TOEFL). Check with your local testing center to confirm what format is available. This course is designed to prepare you for the iBT.
